Bahrain - Sunrise at Askar Beach

Askar (Arabic: عسكر‎) is a village on the south eastern coast of Bahrain. It is inhabited by members of the Al Buainain tribe, among others. It is also home to the shrine of Sa’sa’a bin Sohan, a companion of Imam Ali.

Askar has a wonderful beach which is facing east and therefore it is ideal location for sunrise photos. It is about 30 min drive from the capital city Manama and therefore you need to get up really early (after 3AM) to capture the morning blue hour and the light just before sunrise as on this photo. It is very unusual location with boats just hanging in the air which I have not seen before. It makes it for really interesting subject. Thank you Nadia for taking me there.
